EA Dice has introduced Starwars Battlefront DLC . These DLC are free and is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
While EA DICE’s Star Wars Battlefront has nabbed the spotlight of the fame book, publisher Electronic Arts made its confirmation today, announcing that the sci-fi shooter has become the “largest digital launch” in the company’s history. The company also claimed that the Star Wars’ latest entry has been the “biggest launch” of all Star Wars series ever released though they haven’t shared any stats about the game’s success story. In the coming few months, the fans and players of Star Wars are likely to have the opportunity of enjoying the privilege of “lots of new content” coming to Battlefront; on PS4, Xbox One and PC. This pleasuring piece of news was confirmed by EA Studios executive Patrick Soderlund in a blog post which a counter strike to one of the biggest judgment of the game so far. It is just that some feel the game doesn’t have enough content.
The first available free DLC of Battlefront post its launch is a Force Awakens-inspired expansion called The Battle of Jakku, expected to be available on December 1 for people who have preordered. While, everyone else gets it on December 8 as a free download.
Talking of DLCs and updates, The Battle of Jakku DLC that takes place 29 years before Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the aftermath of the Rebel victory in the Battle of Endor is something the game will have in abundance.
The Battle of Jakku was created through a joint venture between DICE and Lucasfilm which will include two maps hatched on Jakku and a new mode called Turning Point, which involves capturing three Empire-held bases.
“This is just the beginning,” Soderlund confirmed in a recent online post.
Mocking about the matter in addition to all the new maps and items coming to the game through Battlefront’s $50 DLC pass, Soderlund struck a hint to players to expect a number of free updates; saying,
“We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have come with Season Pass. We’ll have more to share soon.”
EA management made its statement on the comment when big-time retailer GameStop said Battlefront underperformed. “We’re not going to quantify it in terms of actual numbers, but we had high expectations that diminished somewhat as it got closer and it failed to hit those lowered expectations,” justifying its statement on Monday.
However, the sales for the Battlefront is likely to improve as the buzz says that ”The Force Awakens” and the game would eventually hit the retailer’s sales projections. Expecting with a hike on its popularity, EA is predicting the game will ship 13 million copies during its initial launch.
